James Brown Foundation hosts 33rd annual turkey giveaway
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One of the biggest giveaways we have every year is the James Brown Turkey Giveaway.
People who ed picked up their turkeys and boxes of food this morning over at May Park.
We caught up with his daughter who says this giveaway represents who James Brown was.

Thanksgiving is a few days away. Here are all the events, giveaways, feasts and more in the CSRA.
“He was a giver. He never forgot where he came from. It was hard for him as a young child growing up poor in the rural south. And so once he was blessed he said you know this is what we’re gonna do,” she said.
This giveaway has been going on since 1991.
El Rey also holds giveaway
El Rey restaurant also held a turkey giveaway Monday.
It started out eight years ago as a one-off thing, but now here they are nearly a decade later still helping families out.
Some of the food suppliers found out about the giveaway and donated a few cases of turkeys, as well.
