Children’s Hospital of Georgia fundraiser aids families in need
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Friday is the day when News 12 partners with iHeart Radio to raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Georgia’s annual fundraiser to help patients and their families.
We have been at the event since Thursday to meet everyone involved if benefits patients and their families directly.
Miracle Monday: iHeartMedia Cares for Kids Radiothon returns for 24th year
We are a month away from the 24th annual iHeartMedia Cares for Kids Radiothon and you at home can be a part of helping make miracles happen for these families.
Friday marks day two of the three-day event where the community can come together to the hospital.
More than 75,000 kids come to the hospital each year and you at home can be a part of helping make miracles happen for these families.
During the fundraiser, you will have the opportunity to call in and make a donation.
You can call until 7 p.m. or text “CHOG” to 51555 anytime to donate.
Empty Stocking Fund helps families provide Christmas gifts to kids
The holidays can put financial stress on some families to be able to give their kids a good Christmas. That stress is made worse this year after Hurricane Helene.

“Whether it’s for programmatic things that maybe make the hospital a little bit more fun and easy for the children, equipment upgrades, new technology or research, it all goes directly to impact the children,” said Catherine Steward, the director of philanthropy at the Childrens Hospital of Georgia.
Every dollar raised goes right back to the kids, just like 7-year-old Kensley who has been coming to the children’s hospital since last year.
“We’re just blessed that CHOG has that here,” said Mandy Woodberry, Kensley’s mother. “We didn’t have to worry about driving hours to have our child seen.”
The last day for the fundraiser will be Dec. 7 until 1 p.m.
You can find more information on the event and how you can help on their website.
