New four-way stop at the Thomson By

There’s a new four-way stop at State Highway 17 and the Thomson By, just south of Thomson.

A contractor has gotten the go-ahead for a roundabout at the intersection, and the four-way stop will allow crews to work safely, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Last Monday, crews started changing the configuration of the intersection, and stop signs and rumble strips have been installed on Highway 17.

The lanes have been adjusted, too.

The roundabout should be finished by spring 2026.
