Victim ID’d, suspect charged in fatal Augusta hit-and-run
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Authorities have identified the victim and the suspect involved in the fatal hit-and-run on Milledgeville Road, we learned Tuesday morning.
The Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, said he responded to Milledgeville Road at Murphy Road about a pedestrian fatality on Monday night.
Malcolm Leonard Kelly, 47, homeless, was riding a bicycle when struck by a vehicle that left the scene, Bowen says.
1 killed after car slams into power pole, tree in Orangeburg County
A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Orangeburg County, we learned Monday morning from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Kelly was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:50 p.m., Bowen says. An autopsy has been scheduled.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says deputies identified the driver and vehicle that fled the scene at 9:10 p.m.
Anthony Way, 66, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of DUI, two counts of homicide by vehicle and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.
Deputies say they responded to Murphy Road at Milledgeville Road about an accident involving a bicyclist at 5:38 p.m. Monday.
Upon arrival, deputies learned a person who was riding a bicycle was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
It happened just four days after a crash in Augusta claimed the life of a pedestrian. On Thursday, Jerico Blair, 53, homeless, was pronounced dead on the scene of a crash in the 2500 block of Meadowbrook Drive.
