Ga. suspected drunken driver beaten, shot by witnesses
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Police in Georgia said a drunken driver has been hospitalized after he was shot and beaten following a crash.
Atlanta police said the crash took place on William Holmes Borders Senior Drive near Auburn Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officials believe the driver was drunk when he flipped his car, causing it to crash into other vehicles.
Some people who witnessed the crash then went over to the driver and began beating him up before shooting him in the thigh, according to police. Those witnesses then took off.

Officials said the driver was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made at this time.
