FAIRFAX, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re learning about an October shooting that allegedly motivated the father of the victim to order a hit on the accused shooter, a juvenile.

Freddie L. Washington, 48, was arrested after authorities said he solicited the kidnapping and murder of a juvenile in a social media post that officials learned of on Dec. 1.

Fairfax police on Wednesday outlined the shooting that allegedly motivated Washington.

It happened just before 6 a.m. Oct. 29 when Washington’s 21-year-old son was driving to work with some others, and they stopped at a home to pick up another rider. While they were waiting, there were several gunshots and Washington’s son was hit, according to police.

At least some of the riders jumped out of the car and fled.

Washington’s son tried to drive away, but the car wrecked in a ditch on Beaufort Avenue, according to police.

Police found the driver bleeding heavily from the shooting, which left him in critical condition.

Police said a suspect was seen running from the site of the shooting, but he couldn’t be found.

Police said that in soliciting the slaying of the juvenile he thought was responsible for the shooting, Washington wrote: “Dead or Alive. I want the shooter.” Accompanying the post were photos of large sums of money.

In the comment section, Washington stated, “F--- the police I got 20,000 bands,” according to police.

In addition, police say he posted a picture of the boy who was the target.

In a search warrant, Washington was found in possession of multiple firearms, for which he has a disqualifying conviction in criminal history, police said. Multiple communication devices were also seized.

Washington was charged with one count of solicitation to commit murder and one count of solicitation to commit kidnapping, according to police. He was booked into the Allendale County Detention Center.
