Cops find man sought for questioning in murder over candy bars
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County deputies have canceled their search for a man wanted for questioning over an Augusta murder.
Alvarez Anderson, 43, has been located, deputies said Monday.
He was wanted for questioning in connection with the Oct. 31 beating death of a man in an Augusta park in a robbery over a couple of candy bars.
Fort Eisenhower slaying: Victim, suspect weren’t in Army
Neither the suspect nor the victim of the weekend’s Fort Eisenhower shooting were active of the Army.

Suspect DeMarcus Deion Thomas was arrested and accused of killing 59-year-old Michael Whitfield around 7:15 a.m. Oct. 31 at Elliot Park in the 2000 block of Lumpkin Road, according to authorities.
Arrest warrants allege Thomas committed robbery by force when he tried to take candy bars from Whitfield, then killed Whitfield by beating him in the face and stomping him in the face, chest and body.
After the beating, Thomas removed two candy bars from Whitfield’s pockets, according to an arrest warrant.
Whitfield was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:10 a.m. Oct. 31.
