Finding Solutions: New nonprofit offers free medical equipment
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - We told you that a non-profit that has been around for years providing medical equipment at no cost is closing its doors.
Dana’s Recovery Room started inside the Immanuel Baptist Church in North Augusta.
And now, a new recovery room has opened in its place to continue the mission.
Sandra Nuss started Dana’s Recovery Room in honor of her daughter who had leukemia.
Aiken Salvation Army gathers gifts for hundreds
On Tuesday, we got a behind-the-scenes look at the Salvation Army of Aikne's Angel Tree operation where they’re finding solutions in providing gifts to more than 650 families.
They offer walkers, crutches, canes, wheelchairs and so much more to anyone who needs it.
On Wednesday, Interim Healthcare of Augusta opened its new recovery room called Cutter’s Resource Closet.
The goal remains the same and that’s to fill the gaps that insurance may not cover.
Nuss says it’s a need she has seen grow over the years and she’s happy knowing someone else is taking on the cause.
SOAR Academy looks for new home after Helene
SOAR Academy suffered significant damage to their building off Washington Road from Hurricane Helene, which caused them to shut down for two months.

“I just say it was a God thing when he’s in it it’s going to keep going and it’s made it a lot easier for me that it’s still going to be done,” said Nuss.
Cutter Mitchell, for Interim Healthcare of Augusta, said: “I mean this is a vital resource for the community that I saw. If it goes away, not only are my patients in trouble and other patients of the agencies we work with and partners, but this is going to be a big hit.”
That’s why it is staying open, under a new name and location.
You can visit to get equipment or make a donation on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
