AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Aiken County crews have responded to the scene of a crash on Edgefield Highway near Grandmothers Place on Saturday night.

Officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed the accident involved a pickup truck and a Jeep.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m., according the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing mail from a post office drop box – a national trend that’s also showing up in the CSRA.

Officials also confirmed someone was ejected from a vehicle.

According to a News 12 crew on scene, both lanes of Edgefield Highway were closed to traffic for some time, but have since been reopened.

A spokesperson with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says Center Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene.

EMS and the South Carolina Highway Patrol also responded.
