Santa, fire units battle chimney fire in North Augusta neighborhood
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The North Augusta Department of Public Safety responded to the 400 block of Shadow Lane in reference to a house fire.
Officers say upon arrival at 7:30 p.m., they located a chimney fire which spread into the attic and caused damage to the roof and the second floor of the home.
Officers say there were no reports of injuries.
Man arrested after police search ends in Batesburg-Leesville
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office was searching for him on Friday night.

The Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department and the Merriweather Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene for assistance.
A News 12 crew says the scene was cleared around 9:25 p.m.
According to photos from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety, even Santa made an appearance to help with the fire just four days before Christmas.

He got called away from the Santa Run in North Augusta to help with the fire.
