Coroner’s office responds suspicious death on Jones Street

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says they have responded to a suspicious death on Jones Street in Augusta.

The coroner’s office says they responded to 14th Street at Jones Street in reference to a deceased female.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:05 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

A News 12 crew on scene says they saw at least two Richmond County Sheriff’s Office vehicles and a white van.

As of 5:30 p.m., the scene was cleared.

The coroner’s office says an autopsy will be scheduled.
