Outage hits over 600 Georgia Power customers in CSRA

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Over 600 Georgia Power customers experienced an outage in the CSRA on Monday morning.

Two of the three CSRA power outages were wind-related, according to Georgia Power. The third is still being investigated.

Expect travel delays from road construction in the CSRA

Starting Monday, several roads will be impacted by road construction over the next several months in the CSRA.

As of 10:50 a.m., power was restored for all the customers in both McDuffie and Richmond counties.

Initially in Richmond County, 102 customers experienced an outage off of Windsor Spring Road with an estimated restoration time of 11:30 a.m., according to the Georgia Power outage map.

In McDuffie County, 598 customers experienced an outage along Washington Road near Augusta Technical College with an estimated restoration time of 10:15 a.m.

Due to the wind advisories across Georgia and South Carolina on Monday, the outages could be related to that.

In Leah, 56 customers were experiencing an outage at 10:55 a.m. with an estimated restoration time of 1:15 p.m.

According to our First Weather Alert Team, there will be winds 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour expected. There might be occasional gusts over 45 miles per hour possible especially in the CSRA and southern Midlands until 7 p.m.

South Carolina: Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, Edgefield, McCormick, Saluda

Our First Weather Alert Team reports there will winds 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour to be expected in portions of central, east central, northeast, southeast, and west central Georgia until 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Georgia: Emanuel, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Johnson, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, Wilkes
