AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Prices at the gas pump continue to creep upward as sanctions continue to limit the worldwide oil supply.

However, Georgia and South Carolina both sat below the national average of $3.11 for a gallon of fuel on Friday.

The price in Georgia was $2.97 per gallon, while South Carolina had some of the cheapest gas in the country at $2.85 a gallon, according to AAA.

Augusta prices averaged $2.92 on Friday, while prices in Aiken and Edgefield counties averaged $2.81.

The prices stayed low even as concern rose this weak about fuel supplies after a leak near Atlanta shut down a gasoline pipeline that serves the CSRA. That leak had been fixed by Friday afternoon, though, and fuel was flowing.
