Breezy afternoon with gusts up to 25-30 mph. Rain likely early Saturday and then much colder next week.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - High pressure builds in today and Friday before another front brings high rain chances Saturday. Behind the front this weekend will be much colder air arriving early next week. Winter weather looks possible between Tuesday and Thursday next week. Stay updated on the forecast.
Sunny skies will help us warm up to near 60 by the afternoon. Breezy conditions are expected with west wind between 12-18 mph and gusts 25-30 mph. Make sure to secure loose items around home.
Friday will be calmer and stay sunny. Morning lows will be near 30 and afternoon highs will reach the upper 50s. Wind will be out of the southeast less than 10 mph as high pressure centers over the area.
Rain is likely Saturday as our next cold front moves into the region. Rain will start early and last into the afternoon. Highs will stay in the mid-50s. Some showers could linger into early Sunday, but most of Sunday during the day should be dry. Morning lows Sunday will be in the mid-40s and afternoon highs will hit the upper 50s. The main cold front will push through Sunday and bring breezy conditions with wind sustained around 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.
Behind the front early next week will be much colder air. Monday morning lows will be in the upper 20s and afternoon highs will only reach the low 40s. Monday looks dry for any Martin Luther King Jr. events happening around town, but cold!
Long term outlooks are showing highs in the 30s with the chance for winter precipitation yet again next Tuesday/Wednesday. We are still too far out to nail down any specifics but we will continue to monitor large scale patterns and trends. Keep it here for the latest updates!
