AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Thursday, at the Augusta VA’s office, a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. service was held and live-streamed.

News 12′s Mikel Hannah-Harding was also at the event.

Spotting domestic violence can save someone’s life

Domestic violence advocates are speaking out to encourage those trapped in abusive situations to call for help and to educate people on getting help for their loved ones.

“It’s a day on. It’s a day for us to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to make sure that we help our fellow man,” said John Henry Steve.

Steve also said he thinks people will continue to honor Dr. King’s legacy.
