Dealers used candy bags in Orangeburg County record meth bust
ORANGEBURG, (WIS) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Department released new details about one of the largest meth busts in the county, we learned Friday.
Deputies announced Marcus Guest, 44, of Holly Hill was wanted after the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office searched a home on Acola Lane and discovered over four pounds of marijuana, 440 various pills, cocaine, crack cocaine, and six pounds of meth.

According to the OCSO, Guest turned himself in Thursday morning. Authorities said Guest and the others arrested in the investigation used the home to make and sell drugs. Some of the drugs are concealed in packaging geared towards children with bright colored packaging, cartoons, and the word “Kids” written on them.
“I just want to make sure that Mr. Guest and his other co-workers here know...kill yourself but,” Leroy Ravenell, Sheriff of the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff Ravenell stated criminals are getting creative, not only selling drugs that are harmful and dangerous but making it look appealing to children.
Pilot accused of DUI after being removed from plane in Georgia
Georgia authorities said pilot David Allsop was taken into police custody after showing up prepared to take flight while intoxicated.

“Not only if kids picked this up, you have parents that are not educated enough that get this package of marijuana and they will get it and open it for the kids not knowing that it is drugs. But who knows if it’s drugs? Mr. Guest and his other co-workers of his know it’s drugs... pity I have for them whatsoever”, Ravenell said.
The operation was months long and involved multiple agencies, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Orangeburg County SWAT, and others. Authorities told WIS that on January 10th officers opened the door of the home on Acola Lane and right there before them crack cocaine cooking on the stove.
“Mr. Guest, he ran off without telling us thanks because we had to turn the stove off for him”, Ravenell said.
2 young men die after boat overturns in Screven County
wo young males are dead after their boat overturned while fishing, according to the Screven County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Ravenell, this is the 4th drug bust in just the last week. When asked why Orangeburg County is seeing such an uptick drug drug-related cases, he stated that other agencies have confirmed this is happening all around the state.
“They are just trying to do everything they can do to conceal what they are doing and they are using what children love...to do that”, said Ravenell.
In addition to a drug problem, Ravenell says the county is dealing with many other crimes he believes are linked to one thing...drugs.
“And then also another thing we have a problem with is drive-by shootings all this comes from drugs, people trying to make money without going out and finding a job”, Ravenell said.
In an urge to encourage parents to be more mindful of where their children are at, what they are consuming, and what they do, Revenell said criminals are choosing whatever means necessary to distribute drugs, even if it means risking a young child’s life.
“You just need to be aware of what your kids are doing and where they are at,” Ravenell said, “To the drug dealers that are committing these crimes....look out because we are not finished”.
Guest was granted A $650,000 bond before a magistrate judge Thursday afternoon. A spokesperson with OCSO says he is no stranger to law enforcement and could face several other charges based on his criminal history. The Sheriff’s office said, they have been looking for Guest, but that other charges could be coming from this very investigation.
