Suspect arrested in 2022 fatal shooting of Waynesboro man

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect has been arrested in the 2022 shooting death of a Waynesboro man, according to the Waynesboro Police Department.

Daymond Lamont Langford was arrested on Thursday, according to jail bookings.

Man wanted for questioning in Augusta sexual assault case

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for questioning about a sexual assault, we learned Friday.

Najee Kabir Holden, 23, of Waynesboro was killed after a shooting on the 1100 block of Herman Lodge Boulevard on Jan. 7, 2022.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Holden unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the incident report.

The Burke County Coroner’s Office said they responded to the hospital, where Holden was pronounced dead.

Langford is charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, according to jail bookings.
