17-year-old arrested after allegedly striking man in the head with a gun
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 17-year-old has been arrested after deputies say he struck a man in the head with a firearm as the man tried to break up a fight, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Kendrell Lindsey McCloud, 17, was arrested on Friday according to jail bookings.
On Jan. 14, around 6:32 p.m., deputies responded to the 2000 block of Clark Street in reference to an assault.
On scene, deputies say they saw a male lying on the ground with a head wound and ave medical aid until EMS arrived.
According to the incident report, a witness told deputies a group of nine juveniles came to fight her children.
During the fight, the witness says her neighbor attempted to split up the fight when one of the male juveniles pulled out a gun and struck him in the head with it.
The witness told deputies she did not hear any shots fired.

The Saluda County Coroner’s Office has identified two people who were killed after colliding at a highway intersection in Saluda County, we learned on Monday.

According to the incident report, after the victim was struck with the firearm and laying on the ground, the juveniles searched him before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to WellStar MCG by Central EMS, according to the incident report.
After the victim was transported, deputies say two of his credit cards were located and turned over.
McCloud is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and criminal attempt-felony, according to jail bookings.
