3 arrested in raids on Wagener, Perry drug houses, deputies say

WAGENER, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two times this month, investigators have shut down drug houses in the Wagener and Perry area after public complaints in both towns, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, a search warrant in the 200 block of Roberts Street East in Perry led to the arrest of two men. They were charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II drug (oxycodone), possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and operating a stash house, according to deputies.

Crews battled a fully involved home fire in Windsor Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

On Jan. 16, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Washington Road in Wagener. Deputies said investigators arrested one man on charges of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

“We are focused on working in all areas of Aiken County to combat all types of crime,” Sheriff Marty Sawyer said. “If you are dealing drugs and think you can hide in rural Aiken County, you are wrong.”
