Man found dead at homeless camp on Greene Street
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been found dead at a homeless camp on Greene Street, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday around 3:20 p.m., deputies responded to the 1300 block of Greene Street in reference to a possible deceased person.
On scene, deputies say they located a homeless camp in a wooded area where a male was located unresponsive.
Officials say once paramedics arrived on scene, the coroner was ed to respond.

Two times this month, investigators have shut down drug houses in the Wagener and Perry area after public complaints in both towns, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
The coroner’s offices say they responded to a death at a homeless camp under the Calhoun Bridge and that the male appeared to have been deceased for a few days.
A positive ID has been made, but the ID will not be released until the next of kin has been notified, according to the coroner’s office
Details are limited at this time and no further information is available.
An autopsy has been scheduled, according to the coroners office.
