Deputies seek clues in hit-and-run crash on Chester Avenue
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded Saturday a hit-and-run crash at Virginia Avenue and Chester Avenue.
Deputies say a subject operating a scooter was struck by a Chevrolet truck, which fled the scene after the accident.
Deputies say the truck was possibly red in color.

Two drivers were killed in crashes Friday in Augusta – and both followed a fatal crash on Georgia Highway 24 South in Burke County, then a driver died several hours later in Aiken County.

According to the sheriff’s office, the subject on the scooter was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Anyone with information pertaining to the hit-and-run vehicle or the driver is asked to call the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020.
