Aiken Tech’s mobile manufacturing lab is ready for action
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Aiken Tech cut the ribbon on the new advanced manufacturing mobile lab.
Through a partnership with Piedmont Technical College in Orangeburg County, the lab is mobile and can travel around Aiken County.
It has equipment used for industrial maintenance, electricity and instrumentation programs to help prepare students for the future.
“It’s fully powered, it has a diesel generator, and so it has some equipment like you see here, some controlling boards and they will be able to work through those processes so they are actually able to go in there and do some simulations, here’s the problem, here’s how to fix it, here’s how this whole system works, it’s really cool it’s really just a hands-on opportunity,” says Chad Crumbaker, vice president of academic affairs and workforce innovation.
