Daily forecast | Latest From First Alert Meteorologist Tim Strong
Above average highs most of the week. Few chances of rain mid-week.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Unseasonably warm temperatures will be the main weather headline for the first work week of February. We broke the record high-temperature yesterday with 81 degrees. The old record was set back in 1927 at 80 degrees.
Slightly cooler afternoon temperatures today as a cold front pushes through. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s and 70s in the central and southern CSRA as the “wedge” builds in from high pressure to our north centered over the Mid-Atlantic. Showers look likely later tonight.
A few upper-level disturbances could swing through late this week and into the weekend, but very little rain is expected, other than a few hit-or-miss light rain showers.
This week is also Severe Weather Preparedness Week for the state of Georgia. Each day has its own topic to inform you and your family as we approach severe weather season. To learn more check out our weather blog.
