(CNN) - Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted a video on social media of migrants arriving at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

He said it was the first flight of high-threat criminal migrants living in the United States illegally to arrive at Guantanamo Bay.

It is unclear exactly what crimes they allegedly committed.

The video shows several people, with their faces obscured, shackled by their arms and legs being led from a military plane into a van.

According to two officials, a military flight carrying 13 migrants with criminal records left El Paso, Texas, and landed in Guantanamo Bay on Thursday.

The move stems from President Donald Trump’s memorandum directing the federal government to prepare the base to house tens of thousands of migrants.

The facility has largely been used for migrants captured at sea.
