21-year-old scooter rider dies after crash near North Augusta
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 21-year-old scooter rider died after a crash with a pickup early Saturday near North Augusta.
Edgefield County Coroner David Burnett said the victim was identified as Allo A. Corbett, of North Augusta.
Victim ID’d in fatal Orangeburg County crash
Shedrick Calloway Jr., 28, died from blunt-force injury due to a motor vehicle collision on U/S/ Hwy 178, according to officials.
The accident happened at 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Highway 230 near Townes Road in Edgefield County, two miles west of North Augusta.
Officials say there was a collision between an eastbound Ford F-150 and a westbound scooter carrying Corbett.
Corbett died after being taken to Wellstar/MCG hospital in Augusta.
Man injured in North Augusta drive-by shooting
The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one person in North Augusta on Saturday night.
The driver of the F-150 was not injured.
The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
