46-year-old woman shot dead – and her son is the suspect
GLOVERVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his mother in Aiken County on Sunday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Coroner Darryl Ables said 46-year-old Adrienne S. Richardson was killed in the 500 block of Lawana Drive.
Deputies said they responded to the scene at 11:24 p.m., and Ables said Richardson was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:14 a.m. from a gunshot wound to her head.

She will be autopsied Thursday in Newberry, according to Ables.
Zayvian Patrick Butler, 20, of Gloverville, was arrested on Monday, according to jail bookings.
Deputies confirmed he is the victim’s son.
On scene, deputies say they found multiple apparent bullet holes in the front door of the home. Deputies were told by witnesses that Butler was armed and suicidal.
According to deputies, Butler allegedly shot several rounds in the home.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and additional first responders were called to the scene, according to officers.
21-year-old scooter rider dies after crash near North Augusta
A fatal accident happened at 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Highway 230 near Townes Road in Edgefield County, two miles west of North Augusta.

Officers say that after a period of crisis negotiations with Butler, he came out and surrendered without further incident.
Deputies found the deceased victim in a bedroom, lying on the floor.
Butler was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center and is expected to be charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to deputies.
SLED charges Aiken County suspect with child sex crimes
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) told us they charged a 34-year-old suspect with criminal sexual conduct with a minor on Monday.

The incident comes amid an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed about 200 lives in nearly three years across the CSRA.
The crime outbreak has affected communities large and small on both sides of the Savannah River.
