South Carolina lawmakers discuss bills on social media, auditor

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The House Judiciary Committee met Tuesday afternoon to discuss several bills.

One of them, H. 3431, seeks to tighten restrictions on social media and internet use for minors. It would ban minors from having social media s without parental permission, prohibit adults from messaging minors on social media unless they are already connected, and expand s over minors’ social media s.

Another bill, H. 3430, would amend South Carolina law to make the state auditor a position appointed by the governor.
