18-year-old arrested in Augusta assault, robbery attempt

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An 18-year-old suspect was arrested in connection to an aggravated assault and armed robbery incident in Augusta, authorities said Thursday.

Suspect arrested in hit-and-run death of moped rider

A man riding a moped was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run at 13th and MLK. He died hours later at a local hospital, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said Mayhue Hopgood was wanted for aggravated assault, criminal attempt armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime that occurred on Jan. 24.
