35-year-old turns himself in after ‘violent’ carjacking in Allendale
ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 35-year-old suspect turned himself in after the Allendale Police Department announced he was wanted on multiple charges, including assault and battery.
According to officials, Colton Jamil Davis turned himself in on Saturday without incident in connection to the crime.
According to a news release, on Aug. 12, 2022, the Allendale Police Department and the Allendale County Sheriff’s Office responded to 656 Main St. South, Allendale Manor Apartments, for a violent carjacking.
Officials say after further investigation and evaluation of forensic evidence, they have been able to identify the suspect as Colton Jamil Davis, 35.
On the above date, Davis robbed the elderly victim at gunpoint after she refused to give him a ride to Orangeburg from Allendale on multiple occasions, according to the news release.
Bomb squad responds to ‘suspicious’ devices at North Augusta, Aiken home
Law enforcement authorities, including a bomb squad, investigated some suspicious devices at two homes in Aiken County on Wednesday.

Officials say the elderly victim attempted to protect her intellectually disabled adult child, and an elderly enger friend at which time, Davis physically assaulted her and discharged the firearm into the rear of the vehicle where the victim’s disabled child sat.
The news release states Davis then stole the vehicle and fled the area.
“A BOLO was placed on the vehicle and shortly after a Trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. A pursuit followed and Davis fled to the town of Denmark, where a relative resided, crashed the vehicle into a tree attempting to flee law enforcement, and fled the area on foot.” the release states.
Orangeburg man arrested after setting woman on fire, deputies say
An Orangeburg man has been arrested after setting a woman on fire, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say in the time between the robbery and Davis being identified as the suspect, local law enforcement had additional interactions with Davis where a firearm was involved.
The police department says Davis should be considered armed and dangerous.
Davis is charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, assault and battery 1st degree, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
