Augusta FEMA disaster recovery center moves to new location

The Federal Emergency Management Agency this week denied Georgia’s request for an extension of full federal financial assistance for hurricane recovery.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The new FEMA disaster recovery center in Richmond County has opened and updated its new schedule on Tuesday.

The new site will be located at the Diamond Lakes Branch Library located at 101 Diamond Lakes Way in Hephzibah.

The center hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday.

This location will be available through Feb. 28.

All other Disaster Recovery Centers are now closed permanently. However, survivors can meet with FEMA representatives at the U.S. Small Business istration (SBA) Business Recovery Centers (BRCs) in Bulloch counties at these locations:

  • Feb. 18 - Statesboro-Bulloch County Library located at 124 S. Main Street in Statesboro

Georgians who applied prior to the application deadline can continue to get help with their applications by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362.

They can also go online, or use the FEMA app on their smart phone or call the Georgia Call Center at 678-547-2861 Monday through Friday.
