Authorities arrest 2 men in Bamberg County drug bust
DENMARK, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two men have been charged with drug and other offenses in a t investigation between the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office.
Jayvon Jacquel Johnson, 27, is charged with trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine base, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a third suspect in connection to the weekend murder of a 32-year-old on Cooney Circle.

SLED agents also charged Ja’Kwan Malik Bryant, 26, with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Both Johnson and Bryant were charged last week and booked into the Bamberg County Detention Center.
Man charged with kidnapping after missing woman found in Saluda County
A man has been charged with kidnapping after a missing person was found in Saluda County, officials say.

The arrests came after an incident on Feb. 12 when “a large quantity of blue pills with an approximate field weight of more than 28 grams and field tested presumptive for fentanyl and methamphetamine” was taken into Johnson’s home on Lee Street in Denmark, according to SLED.
Agents then converged on the residence to secure the location for a search warrant, but Johnson and Bryant ran out the back door, according to the arrest warrant.
35-year-old turns himself in after ‘violent’ carjacking in Allendale
A 35-year-old suspect turned himself in after the Allendale Police Department announced he was wanted on multiple charges, including assault and battery.

He was caught in the woods nearby with a pill bottle containing more blue pills, according to the arrest warrant. He also was caught with a material thought be be marijuana and was seen tossing handgun as he fled, according to arrest warrants.
A search warrant yielded more blue pills in his bedroom, as well as 44.9 grams of a powder that field-tested positive for cocaine, according to arrest warrants.

We’re learning new details related to the GBI’s investigation into the death of 8-month-old Caleb Taylor last month in Jefferson County.

Bryant was seen tossing a backpack that held 526 grams of presumptive marijuana, according to arrest warrants.
