JACKSON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 73-year-old woman has been identified after a house fire in Jackson over the weekend.

According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, 73-year-old Lois Miller’s death was due to smoke inhalation and thermal burns.

On Feb. 16, deputies responded to the home on the 100 block of Hidden Springs Road.

Officials say after extinguishing the fire, crews found the homeowner, Miller.

A man has been charged with kidnapping after a missing person was found in Saluda County, officials say.

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene at 2:42 p.m.

Miller was pronounced dead on scene at 3:45 p.m.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
