17th annual Half Marathon takes place in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The 2025 Augusta Half Marathon was held on Saturday from 7-11:15 a.m.
For the last 17 years, the Augusta Sports Council has hosted the half marathon.
Local group holds fundraising event for community
On Friday, the Augusta Partnership for Children hosted a fundraising event at the Augusta Shrine Club.

Runners also had the chance to compete in a 5K and 10K.
The course started and ended at the Augusta University Summerville campus, 2500 Walton Way.
Construction to begin on new trail, pedestrian bridge at Augusta Canal
Soon, construction will begin on a $2.5 million access trail to the Augusta Canal from behind Top Golf and Bass Pro Shop on Riverwatch Parkway.

The theme this year was Mardi Gras.
Some of News 12′s very own were competing for the hardware.
Winning runners in both male and female divisions scored a check, walking away $500 richer.
Due to the marathon, there were traffic impacts in and around Augusta, the Augusta Canal, Summerville and the Lakemont/Lake Olmstead area.
