MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Saturday, Prepare for Babies helped bring awareness of their efforts to fund a maternal home in the CSRA.

On Saturday, they held the annual Kickball for a Cause charity game.

The game took place at Crawford Creek Park in Martinez.

In Aiken County, the 15th annual Black History Concert took center stage at the Lessie B. Price Center on Saturday.

One of the major goals of the event was not about fundraising so much as it was about bringing awareness.

“We want to bring awareness to the community about the need for maternity housing right here in the CSRA. There’s nothing like it in the CSRA and we are raising the funds to purchase a maternity home. We want to be able to help mothers and babies that are in crisis situations all in our community, and so that’s what we’re doing here today,” said Rushton and Mandy Metzler with Prepare for Babies.
