Augusta Wild Outdoor Expo to take place this weekend
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The first annual Augusta Wild Outdoor Expo will take place at the Columbia County Exhibition Center this weekend.
We caught up with the organizer of the event for a preview of what outdoor lovers can expect.

Without events like these, you could see local historically Black colleges and universities close their doors, and the culture won’t carry over to the next generation, church said.
He says he wanted to bring an event to the CSRA that would cater to all outdoor lovers while also showcasing companies in the community.
“Restart the expo that was in Augusta about 10 years ago. So, that’s where that came from and it has evolved into what we have today. We will have a community-based local event for vendors so they can come and showcase what they have because there are a lot of small vendors in town or our area that people don’t know about,” said Lichty.
One of those businesses is Kiokee Creek Kennels.
“The CSRA has been the main reason our business is what it is today. We want to give back to the community a bit. For past customers and future customers to come out and see what we do,” said Cody Turner, owner of Kiokee Creek Kennels.
Augusta Museum of History spotlights evolution of Black music
A Black History Month event took center stage Sunday at an Augusta museum, giving visitors a history lesson through music.
Kiokee Creek Kennels include obedience training and retriever training, which will both be showcased at the expo.
The expo will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
