(CNN) - A Delta flight from Los Angeles International Airport headed to Sydney on Saturday was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was detected on board.

According to data from Flight Aware, the aircraft took off just after 9 p.m. and returned to LAX 30 minutes later.

Upon returning to the gate, no smoke was in the cockpit, but according to a Live ATC, pilots still requested medical attention for engers who may have been affected by smoke.

All 162 engers were then rebooked on a different flight.

In a statement to CNN, Delta apologized to their customers for the delay in travel but said, “Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people.”
