AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A driver is wanted for questioning in relation to a fatal hit-and-run crash on I-520 on Tuesday, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The car that authorities are searching for is a 2012 Toyota Camry that is dark grey in color, bearing the tag number SIH6109.

Anyone that comes in with the vehicle or has any information as to its whereabouts is asked to Sgt. C. Benson or any on duty Traffic Officer at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1483 or 706-821-1080.

A motorcyclist died after a late-night crash in Augusta on Tuesday, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said the victim was identified Wednesday as Daniel Paul Doyle, 60, of Augusta.

Deputies responded to the crash on Bobby Jones Expressway at mile marker 11 about the traffic fatality at 11 p.m.

When they arrived, a man was discovered in the grassy median on the eastbound side of the expressway, deputies say.

Preliminary investigation showed that the driver was traveling west on Bobby Jones and lost control of the motorcycle, according to authorities.

The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved, according to dispatchers.

The rider was pronounced dead at midnight on the scene, according to the coroner.

Bobby Jones Expressway eastbound and westbound from Doug Barnard Parkway to Laney Walker Boulevard were shut down until 5:30 a.m.
