Employees battle fire at Barden C&D Landfill in Graniteville

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Barden C&D Landfill employees battled a fire early Friday morning, according to authorities.

Aiken County dispatch told us the landfill employees handled the situation around 5:45 a.m.

Officials also said that you could see the fire from the interstate, but landfill employees had it contained.

We went to the scene to learn more.

This is the third fire at the landfill within a year.

Last March, a bulldozer caught on fire at the landfill. Thankfully, according to authorities, no one was injured.

Then just a few months later, crews responded to another fire at the landfill.
