GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Columbia County Planning Commission approved the next steps to bring a third Olive Garden to the CSRA.

But some in attendance at Thursday’s meeting voiced their concerns, from safety and privacy worries to even more traffic on Lewiston Road and Autumn Trail, just past Exit 190 on Interstate 20.

After voting to approve it with conditions, the proposal heads to the Columbia County Commission.

The commission will meet March 18.

This would be the third new Olive Garden to open in the CSRA in the past 15 months. Aiken County got its first store on Whiskey Road and the Augusta location relocated from Washington Road to Cabela Drive in November of 2023.

The rezoning application also shows a potential Chase Bank could be coming as well.
