Augusta airport preps for influx of travelers ahead of Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta Regional Airport is preparing to welcome an influx of visitors for the highly anticipated Masters Tournament.
The tournament takes place April 7-14.
Airport officials say Delta Air Lines and American Airlines will offer additional direct flights to and from Augusta to accommodate increased travel demand.

New mailboxes located on Greene Street in Augusta are a solution to a major problem.

Delta Air Lines will offer direct flights to Atlanta, New York-LaGuardia, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Boston, Washington-Reagan, White Plains, Austin and New York-JFK.
American Airlines will provide direct service to Charlotte, Washington-Reagan, Miami, Chicago O’Hare, New York-LaGuardia, Boston, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia and Phoenix.
“We are grateful to our airline partners as they continue to grow their AGS Masters flight portfolio,” said Airport Executive Director Herbert L. Judon, Jr.
Ga. bill could speed up eviction process for those living in hotels
As Augusta’s busiest week approaches, hotels in the area will soon be packed full of guests, but many hotels are struggling with squatters.

“Each year there are more diverse offerings. Thus, more people from different parts of the country can fly directly into AGS, enjoy the tournament, and experience our beautiful city. As I do each year, I also want to remind locals to take full advantage of these additional direct flights,” said Judon.
