AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two teenage suspects have been arrested in relation to the armed robbery of a letter carrier in Augusta last year, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says that on Wednesday, it, along with the U.S. Marshal’s Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested a second suspect in connection with the armed robbery of a U.S. Postal mail carrier in the Apple Valley Subdivision on November 13, 2024.

Darrion Antwon Williams, 17, of the Apple Valley Subdivision, was located at Cedarwood Apartments on the 500 block Richmond Hill Road West and taken into custody., according to investigators.

Officials say Williams was arrested on a Grand Jury Arrest Warrant for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

A juvenile offender had previously been arrested in connection with this case.

Man accused of shooting ex-girlfriend after argument in Augusta

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Martese Parris is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend on Feb. 16.

Danny Lee Parker was 16 years old at the time of the incident and was arrested on Dec. 17, 2024.

Parker was booked into the Regional Youth Detention Center and was transferred to the Richmond County jail on March 6, 2025, his 17th birthday, according to officials.

According to the sheriff’s office, Parker was charged with armed robbery under the seven deadly sins. He was charged with a criminal warrant and will be prosecuted in Superior Court, not Juvenile Court.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service offered a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects on Nov. 15.

The robbery occurred on Nov. 13 at approximately 4:55 p.m. at 3461 Jonathan Circle, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office say two other individuals were also arrested in relation to the investigation:

Chavonne Thomas, 35, the mother of Darrion Antwon Williams, was charged with a felony offense of giving false statements and writings.

Carl Gant, 32, the uncle of Williams, was charged with a felony offense of harboring or concealing a fugitive.
