As Columbia County grows, leaders seek community input
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Columbia County is seeing lots of growth throughout its communities.
“I’ve definitely seen some growth over the past couple of years,” says Salvador Yniguez, a resident of Columbia County.
For those who live, work, and play in Columbia County, many have their thoughts on the future.
“I think there should be more facilities to inspire physical activity,” Yniguez says. “Parks like this are great, you know, maybe something like that. My daughter loves it. She loves playing with the other kids, you know, and I think it’s a very healthy environment for her.”
Debris in North Augusta still not picked up? Here’s an update
North Augusta City Council shared the status of Hurricane Helene debris removal on Monday night.
Columbia County leaders want input so they can start building the foundations for future plans.
“This is an important vision document for everybody,” says Sterling. “And this is what you look at when you move to a community and say ‘where are they going? What are their plans?’ And this kind of lays that out. Tells you where you’re gonna get your residential, where you’re gonna get your commercial and your industrial.”
