Clemson finalizing new 6-year deal with Brad Brownell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (FOX Carolina) - Clemson University is in the process of finalizing a new six-year deal with head men’s basketball coach Brad Brownell.
Brownell was recently reported as a top candidate for the head coaching job at Indiana University.
Palmetto Sports Director Beth Hoole confirmed the new deal in Rhode Island with the team as they prepare to take on McNeese in the First Round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The deal is pending board approval.

Clemson advanced to the tournament as a No. 5 seed and are playing in the tournament for the second-straight season, for the first time in program history.
Gamecock Men’s say no to the NIT
As the SEC set a record for the most teams from a conference in the NCAA Men’s tournament, the door opened for the South Carolina Gamecock Men’s team to play in the postseason.

They are coming off an Elite Eight appearance last year. It was just the program’s second ever trip to the Elite Eight
