Victim’s name released in Augusta’s latest slaying
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Coroner’s Office was called to the hospital after a fatal shooting in Augusta.
The Coroner’s Office responded to Wellstar/MCG hospital in reference to a shooting death.
A’kki Pauley, 28, of Augusta, was shot at least one time while sitting in a vehicle in the 1900 block of Dabney Drive.
3 teenagers charged in pair of Denmark shootings
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged three teenagers in connection with two shootings in Denmark.

Pauley was taken to the hospital by private and was pronounced dead at 11:34 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled.
Also injured in the shooting was a man who was found in the 1800 block of Cooney Circle and taken to a hospital.
Brother of Laken Riley’s killer sentenced to prison, deportation
Diego Jose Ibarra, aka “Gocho,” 29, was sentenced to serve a total of 48 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a fraudulent document on July 15, 2024.

Further information wasn’t available, but it happened amid a surge in violent crime that’s claimed about 200 lives across the CSRA in the past three years.
Communities large and small have been affected, but as the largest city in the region, Augusta has been hit especially hard.
