AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - According to a recent news release, the Sand Hills Neighborhood Association announced the unveiling of a sculpture that will honor past Black Masters Tournament champion caddies.
The project will have its unveiling on Thursday, April 3, at 3 p.m. at the Sand Hills Community Center Grounds.
Masters champions’ dinner menu looks familiar this year
Masters champion Scottie Scheffler has decided on his menu when he hosts the Masters Club dinner, and it wasn’t a big surprise — it’s a lot like the one he selected the last time he was champion.

The ceremony beginning at 3 p.m. will include words from Ramona Harriet, black golf historian, author, and CEO of the epochs. Grand Nephew of Masters Champion Caddy E.B. McCoy Jr., Garreth Carpenter, will be the keynote speaker.
The event will celebrate the impact of the past champion caddies who were involved in Augusta’s golf community.
The unveiling ceremony will involve Michael Ben Bussey, who is the last living pre-1983 champion caddie, city of Augusta officials, artists Ed Durant and Baruti Tucker, who worked to create the sculpture and relatives of the caddies.
The project began in November 2020 after unanimous approval from the Augusta Commission.
