Valor Station cuts ribbon on new facility to help first responders
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - There was a ribbon cutting for the Valor Station in Augusta on Thursday.
Valor Station is a nonprofit for first responders helping first responders.
We have been following the nonprofit group that helps restore the well-being of first responders after the toll the work takes on them.
Monument for Masters Black champion caddies to be unveiled
Sandy Hills Neighborhood Association will be unveiling a sculpture honoring past Masters caddies on April 3.
It’s the first intensive outpatient treatment facility for first responders with PTSD in the country.
We spoke to the clinical director about why this facility matters.
“What version of that person do you want that’s going to show up to save you and that’s going to respond to you in your greatest time of need?” said Kristy Ledford, clinical director for Valor Station That’s why it’s important we want to return them to their communities so their families, their departments will be able to show up and to do the job as the best version of themselves.”
The Valor Station officially opens on April 1, and will begin patient intake next week.
