Officials identify human remains found weeks ago in Aiken County

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating human remains that were found in Aiken on March 24.

The remains were identified as homeowner Daniel Reibsome, 73, by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and Richland County Coroner’s Office forensic anthropology team.

According to the coroner’s office, the remains were found on the 200 block of Woodfield Road, off Silver Bluff Road.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the remains behind a residence by a neighbor who was performing a wellness check, according to officials.

Reibsome’s cause of death is still under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
