Multiple Ga. fires believed to be ‘intentionally set’ contained, officials say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The “multiple fires” that were believed to be “intentionally set” have been contained, according to Floyd County fire officials.
The Rome-Floyd Fire Department said the fires were first reported around 2 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Chulio Road and Mathis Road.
Georgia Senate bill could make cockfighting a felony
Georgia is the only state in the country where cockfighting is not, by law, a felony. That could change as Senate Bill 102 creeps towards age.
Another fire was then found near Chulio Road and Norton Road.
The Rome-Floyd Fire Department said there were no injuries or fatalities.

Emergency management officials said drivers in the area should use caution behind the wheel. They also said current weather conditions are not favorable for outdoor burning.
The fires come just two days after a fast-moving wildfire had prompted evacuations in Floyd County on Sunday.
