Hephzibah man sentenced to life without parole in 2020 homicide
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A Hepzibah man has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in a 2020 North Leg Road homicide.
On Thursday, a Richmond County Jury found Robert Dubose, 43, guilty of malice murder, felony murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
This sentencing is in relation to the December 2020 shooting death of Ramon Bryant, 26, who died after being shot while driving his vehicle at the intersection of North Leg Road and Wrightsboro Road.
Man charged of rape after allegedly giving teen alcohol at downtown bar
A man has been arrested after he allegedly raped a girl after meeting her in downtown Augusta, according to authorities.

“A shooting in broad daylight at one of the city’s busiest intersections,” said District Attorney Jared Williams. “Crucial witnesses were able to be located and subpoenaed thanks to the diligence and persistence of DA Investigator Tom Brown.
Dubose was sentenced by Judge Amanda Heath to Life Without Parole, with 15 years added for the firearms charges.
“When you take a life, you forfeit your own to the prison system. We are pleading with the community to put the guns down,” said Williams.
