Man shot after confronting men riding motorcycles on his property

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Augusta man was shot twice in his driveway on Friday, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to Corinth Drive about an aggravated assault.

When deputies arrived, they spoke to the victim who had been shot once in each thigh.

Deputies looking for men considered to be armed and dangerous

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault.

The victim stated that three men had damaged his driveway while riding motorcycles and a four-wheeler.

Deputies say the victim stated when he got out of his vehicle to confront them about being on his property, one of the men shot him.

EMS worker injured in struggle with patient on the way to hospital

On Friday, an EMS worker and deputy were injured in an altercation with a man while transporting him to the hospital.

According to the report, deputies found bullet casings at the end of the victim’s driveway and there were bullet holes in the bumper of his truck.

Chandler Roberts was later arrested and brought in for questioning, according to the sheriff’s office. He had a handgun that was taken for evidence.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
